A day of education. A purpose beyond business. A legacy that lives on.

This Juneteenth, Built Different came home. After starting in Metro Detroit and spending the last two years in Atlanta, Built Different '26 returned to where it began. We brought together 175 real estate professionals, business leaders, and community members for a day of education, connection, and purpose at Regency Manor in Southfield.

The theme this year was simple. The tools have changed, and the agents winning today are not running last year's playbook. Built Different '26 was an AI-powered real estate event built around what is working right now, taught by practicing agents who are doing the work. No theory. No gurus. Just operators sharing what moves the needle.

A purpose beyond business

Built Different '26 was more than a real estate conference. A portion of every ticket, along with the funds we raised together, benefits the Andre V. Seldon Jr. Foundation. The Foundation honors Andre V. Seldon Jr., a Belleville, Michigan native and former University of Michigan cornerback who passed in 2024, by providing mentorship and free swim lessons in our community.

This year, our community raised $3,500 for the Foundation. That gift will give 17 children access to a four-week swim safety program, equipping them with lifesaving skills, confidence, and peace of mind around water. Andre had the heart of a lion, and his legacy continues to move forward through every child who learns to swim. We are building safer children, stronger families, and a brighter future together.

Built Different is about heart and outcomes. Since the event, Team Peterson-Jackson has welcomed four new agents to our family, professionals who saw what we are building and decided to be part of it. More than 60 attendees walked in as new faces and walked out as new connections, and those introductions are where opportunity begins. That is the proof behind the mission.
